They were semi clever in their approach, bricked the window but didn't open the door which would've triggered the alarm (basic aftermarket jobby that was already installed when purchased)

Might look into pricing up an Autowatch system with PIN pad, glass breakage sensors and tilt/motion sensors... but is it really worth getting a fully decked out security system for an old stock WRX with 263,000kms and < $10k market value?

At the end of the day I accept that if I didn't have the radar detector on the windscreen then they probably wouldn't have broken into the car... shit happens I suppose.

We thought Cowboys & Aliens was awesome. Also saw Red Dog last week and it was a top notch Aussie film, but everyone's a critic these days so you're best to go see it for yourself haha

Very strange taking the indicators off.. Maybe the reason they took apart the indicators was to short the indicator wires out?? then if the alarm goes off that flashes the lights, the alarm inline fuse can blow straight away disabling the alarm if it is a cheap one.
Hope they catch the scum, did you report it to the police and have serial no of the unit?

My car got smashed while i was in Mandurah 4 weeks ago. Planning a holiday, was at the beach for a bit, scums took the luggage that was quite big. Door couldnt open afterwards glass everywhere.

That sucks Wozzer. Whenever we go to the movies we go to Innaloo (gold class ftw). Going to be a lot more worried about leaving the rex parked out there now.
