Zin said he got a weird ad at first and that it redirected him. I'd say there is a good chance the ads are redirecting them. It's quite common on Android phones and browsers.
You're right all the way. It is the adverts doing it, and its taking the user away from Perth WRX completely and to a new/blank page with just the advert (thats how it was going for me anyway). I switched to Google Chrome and the "uncontrollable redirects" stopped. |

Im on chrome android. And i get the resirects rarely. Maybe 1 in 20 or evem less. I think it is an add thats causing it too. As it doesnt happen on 99% of the page loads. Then i reckon there is one add in there thats causing it? |
Yeh, good point. I never thought about it before as never had the problem previously since my subscription ended.

Noticed some interesting photos displayed on the main page from BNS.
Contains some NSFW content that might need to be addressed. BNS. |
I was also on chrome, chrome isn't immune. But a browser cache clear should fix any browser that it's repeating on.
I would say either the ad provider has a dodgy ad in their list they need to remove or there's a virus on the P-WRX server (I've seen this before, but it would hit you more consistently, I don't think this is it) or thirdly and most likely I suspect possibly a third party is injecting and replacing the ads, some ISP's do it but any upstream DNS server can do it. It could also be none of the above, I don't really have enough information to go on. It was the top banner if that helps. It is weird though. Still has anyone noticed it lately? Maybe it's already been stopped. |

Hi, I am a pc reject. If it doesn't work I usually grab a beer and wait for someone else to fix it.
For some reason if I try to open certain web pages in google chrome the browser crashes (perthwrx is now one of them). I have turned off my firewall to check if it's security related. I have uninstalled/re-installed chrome browser. I have a beer in my hand. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Chrome has been my browser for many years with out issue. Cheers. |
Nick have you tried another browser...eg Firefox, IE?
|
Hey Steve, everything works ok in the normal default explorer browser. I reckon my pc has done an update and crippled the chrome settings.
I have done a bit of googling and it seems there is a known problem with chrome and windows 10. I can't keep a chrome browser open long enough to try any of the fixes before it crashes. Shame because it is a really good browser, never had an issue with it till now. |
