Default Who can recommend a place to get powdercoating

I want to powdercoat 4 rims which are painted gold atm, I want them to be white. Is powdercoating the best or will painting suffice?

If anybody can let me know of places and ball park figures, that would be awesome.

Cheers

painting is fine, just put a few layers of clear coat..

ive heard powderocating has to heat the rims and may change the metallurgic properties of the rim. making them more fragile..

Its an open argument.. But, consider the fact that powdercoating happens at a much lower temperature than what the rim was exposed to during manufacture.

Just another thing I've heard. Seems to make sense. Opinions?

+1 to that...

I've done 2 years of powdercoating at Capral Aluminium back in my uni days and the metal has to go thru 200-250C oven (round 10 min in there) therefore check what ur rims are made out of...what kinda alloy before you do it.

In terms of quality powdercoating is a heaps better than painting, lot more resistant to sun etc.
