the roof racks can come off, but im sure u will be left with holes. I have seen a DIY on REXNET i think in the past showed the process with photo's. I think it was a bout a 6hr job for the guy doing it....

I wouldn't bother doing it... I have thort about it... but meh

I have a GD 2003 WRX sti and I have just taken my roof racks off this weekend.

They are held on by a piece of metal that slides under the black stripe. So to take them off un bolt the racks off and then you have the mounts left, then take them off and you have the wiggle the metal bit out of/ under the black stripe.

Easy as pie.....its how it works on the 2003 wrx, should be the same as the GC series

your are aftermarket roof racks on an sti sedan. n1ck is talking about the stock roof racks that subaru puts on all hatches.

n1ck - yes the black my00 at MV is [4LOOKZ] it was previously owned by a spraypainter so i imagine they would have been angle-grinded off, sanded back and repainted. Easy, if you can do it...

Wouldn't bother takin them off, it add's charm!
