OK, here's a start for the system I'm thinking...

Blaupunkt Memphis MP66 OR
JVC KD-G735

JL XR650-CSI Front Component system
JL CS112RG-W3v3 Sub in Box
Kicker ZX350.4 Amp

this should come in around 1500$ I think...

I'm wondering weather to upgrade the head unit to an Eclipse 7100. Pretty high end and am thinking there wouldnt be alot of point considering the speakers I would be matching it with??

Even low end HU's these days have decent quality EQ's in them.

Let your amp do the work.

i'v got a jvc head unit ~ $400 that has both an ipod connection and usb. does the job. if you want to connect an ipod you need a full speed connection like the alpine one (or my jvc) dont even thinkabout a wireless setup or you WILL lose any sound quality you have and will kick yourself in the head for wasting money!

$2000 grand will get you a pretty decent setup provided you'v never heard an excellent setup. i'd reccomend spending most of your money on a good set of front speakers as they make the most difference to your overall sound, pretty much all headunits over $300 these days are good and unless your a complete audiophile that dedicates your whole life to comparing audio you will not notice the difference between a $400 headunit and a $1000 headunit, exept for functions like time alignment, complex EQ's`and crossovers. and if you need those, id prefer a procssor anyways
