Default 12" subs

Hi all, need some more bass so looking at upgrading the one 12" sub i have to 2 12" subs i want to retain as much boot space as possible so after some recommendations on brands that people have in their wrx and are happy with. i listen to dance alternative and heavy metal music . all my other gear is alpine 2 . looked at the s and r series but they need to big a box.

Hey Packa

if you want professionally advice, then ask Darren at Tecknik car audio. he knows his shit and can give you options as to what you want to achieve and what price you have to play with

Choosing woofers is really dependent on how much power you have to drive them with and also what impedence the amplifier will handle. You can have the best subs on earth but use an inappropriate amplifier and get a terrible result (it would've sounded with cheaper, more effiecent woofers).

hey there long time listener first time poster :P if you looking to upgrade we will need to know what setup your running atm man,

what amp you have (brand and model number would be great )
what subs you have (again brand and model number will suffice)
what wattage you are running through the subs and if you know what impedence your amp is being used at so you/we can figure out if your gonna need to upgrade your amp aswell

also what price bracket your gonna be using
try to remember the more exspensive the sub the more exsepnsive it will be to run like technik said, dont bother buying 3k watt subs if your amp cant even burp a 600 wattage lol

i would say you are best to buy second hand as its easier to get things at a cheaper price and there are plenty of affordable subs and amps that will blow your sox off

look forward to helping you out, Alex

i dont see how u want to make big power with a limited space it aint gonna happen :P unless u get a pro setup where the subs are mounted into the boot and yer with all the vinyl and all that sh*T. but yer u want more just get 2 12's that are decent like S TYPES or Pioneers, just the average 100 buk a sub and get a average amp. however u do it, it will take half ur boot

i have sourced a set of p1 12 inch crossover subs and a dv600 amp . i have had a chance to hear 1 12 in action and all i can say is thats what im after. the subs need under 1 cubic foot per sub so will be able to retain 3/4 of my boot due to the box design. will post some pick and hopefully a db level when its all in. thanks for the info guys
