Dam Perth-Wrx always reads my mind!

Just yesterday i was chatting with a mate who's just bought a new car with a FMIC. He already has custom WRC plates and was wondering about the legalities of mounting them to the side.

So i'm assuming as long as it's a legit plate theres no issues?

sticker plates are illegal. Ask Jan, im sure he can confirm.

Its more legal to take the plate off and put it on the dash, or remove it entirely... Sticker plate is screaming "i love stickers, a pretty yellow one on my windscreen would match nicely..."

I had a sticker plate for awhile but it was spotted one night when stopped at a booze bus, was told to remove it. If caught with it again I would face a court appearance.

So I did.

However I didnt put my proper plate back on (since I had got rid of the hideous looking Evo mount), I just sat it on the dashboard. Got caught by an undercover cop after a few months and fined $50 for not displaying a plate.

Up to you if its worth the risk.

if you get the evo bracket, make sure to hack it to death. its an ugly piece of shit. isnt there some law though that the plate has to be flat across the front of the car thats why the evo's bracket sticks out so much?
