The alpine is the unit I put in a couple of months ago. Stuck with stock speakers ( no amps or subs ). Sounds great up to the point where it starts to get uncomfortably loud but then the speakers start to distort a little. Just don't crank it up that loud anymore ( Guess I'm turning into an old fart ). Great unit and so many setup options in the unit.

The bluetooth phone adaptor is a bit hit and miss weather they connect but I think thats more the phone side. If you go into the phone menu and tell it to connect it will pick it up. Can be annoying if you don't realize and a call comes through. I think it is to do with the fact you turn the key on and the unit starts to fire up while you put in the pin code and then reboots when you start the car.

I put a HiTv nav on with mine. Full touchscreen operation. Works a treat though sometimes you need to press the source button a couple of times to get into nav mode on startup. Nav is Very good and made the trip to Tassie so much easier.

I can vouch that the alpine unit is a great performer, as far as steering wheel controls, yes a "pac" steering wheel interface will work with this unit.

I would go the Alpine. Mine is similar to yours just single DIN with foldout monitor.

I have http://www.alpine.com.au/products/pr...sp?modelID=383
and can't fault the unit.

Winter special (now probably ended) had these units with bluetooth for $1699. Add the PXA-H100 Imprint sound processor and you've just done 2g. Excellent price for what the unit can do.

yer if i get the alpine, i would get the IMPRINT SOUND added. I was comparin the IVA-W502E to the IVA-W202E http://www.alpine.com.au/products/pr...sp?modelID=296
and it seems to have more features,eg PulseTouch Display, i-Personalize or does the 502E have all that?
found this add on for the pioneer http://www.ryda.com.au/Pioneer-AVG-V...-p/avgvdp1.htm
tells u ur torque, kw's speedo. not sure if its worth $600 though
