Default Simple question

Hi everyone,

if I fitted 18x8.5 rims with 43 offset (and suitable width and profile tyres) to my bug eye, WILL THEY RUB?

I know a few of you are running this size, so looking for real life experience.

Thanks

Isn't your car lower than the average bug?

running exact size and offset on a 05 STi without any issues/rubbing.

Also running Tein coilovers at close to their lowest setting. Your welcome to come look-see if you want.

What are the specs of your wheels now? I remember the last time I saw your car the rear tyres were just millimeters away from the gaurd edge.

They are 18x7.5 +45 (I think, or maybe +48, will have to double check offset. They don't clear Brembos anyway)...225/40 R18 tyres.

Do it Joe. At worse just stretch tyres.

Assuming your current wheels are +48 offset. The new wheels (no tyres) will stick further out by 17.7mm. Otherwise if your current wheels are +45 offset then the new wheels will stick further out by 14.7mm.

I reckon you'll be able to pull it off if you stretch the tyres onto the rim and you'll probably need to add a bit more camber in the rear.

If they rub get the guards rolled. If they are already rolled, roll some more ( Re-spray if necessary!!! )

They aren't rolled....so that'll give me a bit more room (at least 1cm anyway!).
