Default Chipped Clear Coat

A little bit of the clear coat has chipped off my bonnet its noticeable.
just wanted to know if you can fix it yourself, or do you need to get the whole bonnet resprayed?

Thanks

That won't work, it'll be even more noticeable because you'll have a dull spot, you really need to cut the clear coat around the base coat out without removing the base then get the whole bonnet re cleared.

Simple answer, not unless you want it to look worse.

If you arent interested in how it looks; a good trick is to use clear nail polish over the chip.
It will stop water penetrating between the colour and clear so it doesnt bubble.

Thats the right way to get it fixed, alternately you can get it spotted up. problem with that is they will spray the entire bonnet with thinners and after a while it will look like a flame on the bonnet. If you've seen cars before with a white edge around it on only part of the panel, thats why.

If you're careful you can slowly wet n dry it back 'use 1200+ wet n dry', and slowly smooth it out, then polish over the top.
