Default Wiring rear brake light

Hey guys,

having to put my WRX over pits i need to install a rear sudden brake light (3rd brake light)

I bought a narva LED light which is meant for this purpose, yer i am not totally sure how to go about it. Im not that great with these things on cars.

Any advice would help.

Cheers

Im pretty sure that all Impreza sedans have a plug stashed away in the parcel shelf somewhere.. just a matter of getting the right wires to connect.

If you bought a genuine Subaru rear light it would be as easy as plugging it in and fixing the light.

Edit: just noticed your car is a '09.. so the above may not apply for new shape impreza but sure someone will know and chime in!

I would say at a guess that what Muggz has mentioned above should be the case.
Failing that, if you want quick and easy you can just run some twin core wire from the parcel shelf to one of your tail lights and use 2x scotch locks to join the wires.

did you remove a wing with a light in it?

if so, just run the wires from your new light to where you unplugged the wing mounted light from. Connect positive and negative (buy some proper connectors or splice into wires and insulate with tape) and it should work.

for a quick mounting idea, double sided tape?

there should be wiring hidden in the parcel shelf for the brake light.

i couldnt find any wiring on the parcel shelf itself, i following the wiring from below to the other brake lights and linked up the wiring from there, worked a treat.

now for the other fixes to make it able to go over pits...woohoo
