But i thought Benson handed over the painting to his business partner who was also relatively good

^^ Benson told me that his partner was the person who taught him how to paint . . .

But he mainly did car yards and insurance work from memory.

His partner isnt overly keen on the modified scene stuff.

Good to know, when I finally get the car out of the back yard the bonnet and front bar will need painting by the time that happens Phil @ AFM will be a little more free'd up I hope

Mike (or Benson's partner as you say), wasn't Benson's business partner. Yes, they both operated out of the same workshop, and yes, they both helped each other out a lot.
Mike's business is called Ramcharger painting services. He's an excellent painter, but like TJ said, he's not a huge fan of Jap stuff.
In saying that, I've recently got Mike to do work for me, and like Benson, he's always willing to help.
As for Benson's mobile number not working, he's changed it.
