Question New Subi Key?

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows any other way to get a replacement key or at least the rubber skin for it, for my wrx? Both my keys are worn and I want a new looking one. I priced a Subaru gen one but im definetely not paying $400 plus for one key!!

Cheers
Dan

you cant just buy the rubber skin, you either need to find someone whos got a key that they dont use any more in good condition, and transfer everything over, or buy a new one.

Yeah that sounds like a better option than buying a new one. Im pretty sure I dont need all the coding etc since my cars got an aftermarket alarm anyways. So yeah guess ill look for somone that has a mint key!

Might have something for you, we sold our wrx a while back and pretty sure I only gave them 1 key... Does it matter what model? Ours was a my01 Bug.
Cheers

Still needs coding as the key barrel has the factory imobiliser in it.

i got quoted 260 from peel scoobydoo and even at that price id rather put up a worn out key on my keychain..

Also JDM_Style speaks the truth about the coding, i researched it myself before forking out for a spare =/

If that $260 includes a new key and coding then that is fairly cheap compared to what others have been told by Perth Subaru dealerships.

$260 is extremely cheap for an 01+ model key.
you can barely buy the key for that price retail!!!
99 model is a different story.
