The good news...My goodies arrived today. Very happy with the service from carcareproducts australia. Highly reccomended http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/

The bad news...I have work all week so the detail will actually happen on Christmas Day (we have nothing to do as Mum is recovering from surgery at home).

Quick snap of a few of the things (mainly the 4 mint pro pads + menzerna compunds). Must say the quality of the pads is very niiiice.

Cannot wait! Will actually try and record my results (2 quick 30 seconds videos of a before and after type deal)

Watch this space :)

Enjoy! I'll be getting the father in law to detail our cars at xmas. He loves it.

Good local supplier of car care products is Garage Pro (Garage Pro - Delivering exceptional quality for your garage fit-out, tools and car-care products) who sell the Griots products from the states. Excellent service from a founding member of the wrx owners club of wa.

Nice! I've never heard of the menzerna products before. Looking forward to the before and after shots :D

Menzerna (IMO) is the best polish I have ever used. It utilises diminishing abrasives, so be sure to continue to work the product fully until it has broken down. Menzerna polish has no fillers so whatever you are left with after you wipe off the polish is the final product! So be prepared to make more than one pass.........

And xsv4rce, unless your paintwork is really scratched, you wont need the FG500 - thats a pretty heavy cutting polish. The scratches that is designed to clean up are equivilent to 1000 or 1500 grit sand paper if I recall correctly?

Teaser

So....I couldn't wait until Xmas day to try out the new stuff on one part of the car so I did the following:

NOTE: I did not do the centre section of the hood and hood scoop, only the right section of the hood as a comparison (as if you were facing the front of the car from the outside).

1. Wash hood with Meguiars NXT carwash
2. Dry hood with AutoGlym terry cotton cloths (I need to buy microfibre's lol)
2. Meguairs Quik Clay Bar Kit + Quik Detailer
3. Menzerna Fast Gloss 500 + Mint Pro BLUE cutting pad (2 passes)
4. Menzerna Power Finish 2500 + Mint Pro ORANGE light cutting pad (3 passes)
5. Menzerna Super Finish 4000 + Minto Pro WHITE polishing pad (1 pass)
6. AutoGlym Super Resin Polish + Mint Pro BLACK finishing pad (1 pass + wipe with microfibre...will use a polishing cloth on Sunday, need to buy one)

I am going to do this process but using new microfibres (autoglym/meguiars on Sunday), same number of passes (or as many as required)

What can I say....I'll let the pictures do the talking :D (Apologies for the size but I wanted to make it as clear as I could)

Centre Section (NOT DONE)

Right Section (DONE)

If a monkey like me can do it, I am sure all of you can too :)

Edit: I also use rubber gloves on my hands at all times (because I am slightly mad)

You've done a great job. From the first pic, you could have definitely skipped the 500 and just used the 2500 - the marring in the paint is not that bad IMO.

Thanks huggy

I dont think the photo shows it properly but there is a lot of heavy swirling and oxidation...hence use of the FG500 first.

I will use the PF2500 first on the weekend though and see how it goes (if it means less work then why not right)
