Cool Exterior Door Trim Looking Crappy

Has anyone removed the trim pieces from around the doors on the exterior of the car as well as the plastic black trim above the windshield on an 03 WRX? The door pieces look like they used to be chrome and the black paint is fading off in various spots. I know Plastidip is an option but I don't want to go that route if possible. Would prefer to remove these, sand them and repaint it or just find replacement ones if possible. It should go without say but I DID check the forum for anything on this and did google it and was unsuccessful. Thanks for you help.

No one... Anyone have any ideas on a plastic restore too, for exterior black trim pieces that have gone dull?

Just spray them gloss black or something. Much cheaper, will bring it up good. Mighty car mods have a couple of vids that relate. Even if you stuff it up, it cant look any worse

I use Turtlewax trim restorer on my cars, first application lasted a week or two but it lasts longer the more you use it.

Yeah man my back ones around the window arches are going chrome, I bought some paint, gonna sand them back and paint them, easier and cheaper option, plus you get that DIY satisfaction

If you paint the trims remove them from the car, I lost some A and C pillar paint due to the masking I did... so much better with them off the car!

Couldn't find out how to remove them on my 2003. Anyone ever done that?

RestorFX has a trim restore product, I am getting some in about 2 weeks time, haven't tested it tho since it is a new product from RestorFX. Want me to keep you posted after testing them? These are some pictures from RestorFX licensee from the states.
