Dents were quite serious (good old shopping trolley attack) but Stuart charged me $150 for 2 big dents and a couple of little ones and the cut and polish Des told me to allow for about $250 it just really depends on how bad it is. The previous owner of my car thought he was a pro...pro paint messer-upper (idiot). Those photos really dont do the finished result any justice. At night she looks like a shining panther on the prowl and by day a jaw dropping glimmer of blue pearl.

AutoFX: whats the general deal with scratches and chips, do they require a respray of the pannels? Also great job, but alot of work. You deffinatly have patients.

Basically YES Respray.

Scratches depends on how deep and are you prepared to go as deep as the scratch.

Chips can be filled i with a touch of colour cure then acrylic clear a few coats to build up the layers. then once the last coat has cured for more than a week. I sand it down with 1500 and/or 2000 then remove sanding marks by buffing them followed by a similay process as seen from MRWATO2U's pics on the AADz link.

Deeper scracthes can also be wet sanded down to reduce the buffing time.

Yes I have wet sanded expensive cars like Mercs worth over $300,000 before.

To, nicksrex I have notice you are a AADz member too, would love to see a pic of your rex on AADz site.

Hope that helps

Great support from you all, TA.

Hope you guys check out the AADz site for more on Detailing. The site was designed to educate & promte awareness of the art of polishing.

Feel free to post owners rides up at AADz. doent matter if your a pro or not.

Free Demos on owners rides (one front quarter panel) can be arranged on Sat arvo or Sunday at my place, to see how much your paint work might come up.
