Like the others, I agree that a house is a much better place to plonk your cash. And you did buy the RS to save some cash, does seem a little counter-productive to be modifying it......but thats a decision for you to make I guess!

If you want to upgrade your rims, I reckon these are pretty well spot on to what you were asking for in the earlier brief:

The ones I have linked below aren't as wide or severe an offset as above (they are 18 x 9.5 +30), but it gives you an idea.

18X8.5 PRIVAT AKZENT WHEEL 5X100MM ET35 RIM OPAL | eBay

I think postage was about US$250 when I enquired, I was very close to buying them for my car.

I am only doing those couple of things to this car. I just want to reduce the barge-ass bodyroll a bit, and put on wheels.

Will be saving to house big time.

Got 550km from my first full tank in it - much better than my GC at least

But surely compared to no OEM swaybars even - its going to help.

I dont want to lose my comfort this time around. I just want to tighten it up a tad.

Dude don't spend anything on the car its not a performance car just drive it and save for the house recoup some of the dollars you spent wasting on the GC.

Enjoy the comfort of stock springs, auto, not having to worry about curbing your rims etc while you can. Save the money for the good car later on

You want to "tighten it up a bit" and upgrade to 18" rims but maintain "stock comfort" - simply wont happen and you'll spend the best part of $2k - $2.5k to find that out. Money better spent sitting in an account earning interest towards a deposit on your own house. You've made the move to get an economical daily, dont defeat the purpose by pissing up money on it.

Have you sat down with someone like Sam to map out where you financially, how you are travelling and what you need to do to get to your destination? Might be an hour or 2 well spent Cam......
