I read somewhere that you can't powder coat forged rims due to the heat used in the process, is this true?

If so is spray painting any good compared to powder coating?

I know for a fact you can't powder coat forged magnesium rims, as they crack. Not sure about rims made from forged aluminium though.

I reckon a decent paint job can come out heaps better than a powdercoating job.

Ive got 7.5's with a +48 offset sitting on Whiteline flat out springs and theres no dramas. I think you could fit an 8 on there no worries. Then take into account that mine has the crappy wagon guards on it, and i think an 8.5 under sedan guards isnt out of the question providing the offset isnt ridiculous.

This is just my opinion based on my setup, but i suggest you talk to the person your planning on buying your rims from.

I've got 18 x 8" on mine with a +43 offset. Fills the guards perfectly but may need the guard lips rolled if you went ridiculously low.

By the way i am considering selling them
