Hey guys,

I'm looking at buying some Rota Grid 18" rims in hyper black for my hawkeye sti. Just wondering what width I should go for (thinking 8.5" but there is 9.5 as well?). Has anyone had any wheel rub with the wider rims?

For those in the 'stance' seen..

my current set up.

• STD R5 Coilovers (Front and rear Height, Damper and camber adjustable)
• XXR 521 18x8.5+35 in Flat Black
• Adrenza 215/35R18 Tyres - Stretched
• All Guards Rolled Flat
• Adjusted and wheel aligned
Lowered as much as possible without scraping, 2.5 degree’s camber all around.

Obviously it's not the most practical setup, but looks awesome in my opinion!

I also thought the same, but these ones are definitely 8.5 wide.

How have you prevented brake dust from building up on rims?

I've heard about people applying polish/wax/sealants to the rims to prevent bonding and have heard about people getting opticoat applied to the rims.

Any one have personal experiences/recommendations that they would want to share?

Pretty sure Adz would have have words of wisdom on this subject.

I have always used an Autoglym wheel sealant on new rims and found this to be effective but nothing beats regular cleaning. Black wheels FTW

Where did you source yours?

Solidimports?

Would like 8.5" in the 527's +20 for mine...would sit better...
