Having said that, they look alright. You're not going to have much sidewall though...

That's my car they came with it when I bought it I was just trying to identity them..
I agree with you though as I would prefer 18's..

Default rims to suit 05 wrx

Hi Guys and gals
Looking at getting some wider wheels to suit my 05 WRX and was wondering on peoples thought of the best size rim and tire.
I am putting HSD HR coil overs on it and I am looking for something that will fill the gaurds nicely with out to much modifying.
If I have to roll the gaurds I will consider it.
18 x 8.5 +35 or 18 x 9.5 +35 will these fit or not if so whats the best size tire to fit the rim.

Cheers

go the 8.5's you may still need to roll your guards but with 9.5s you definately will

Well it is finally time for me to shit or get off the pot with new wheels for the CS9.

I am looking at getting some Rota Grids in a 18x8.5, i was just wondering what kind of offset and tyres would be needed? Would any Guard rolling need to be done?

I'm currently still running stock wheels and suspension.

Ive only got 18x7.5 +35 and my rears are rolled because they scrubbed. At current height and tyres (215/40/18) the fronts scrub under hard cornering too.

Just get em rolled, it's a small price to pay considering what you're spending on wheels, tyres and suspension

Have fallen in love with the Rota grid 18"x8.5 in white for my 06 wrx in blue. Should look good. Where is the cheapest place to get them and also I currently have 18x7.5 ox631 rims with 225 tyres now. Will these tyres stretch on or will I be looking for new tyres also??

225's will go on 8.5's with a tiny bit of stretch. Enough to expose the rim a little bit (depending on design), which will make them easy to damage if you go anywhere near a kurb.

So be prepared to take the risk if you put the 225's on. If they have heaps of life left in them, put them on until they are worn, then replace them with something like 245's.

I have learned this the hard way, had to get my rims fixed from kerb rash twice. (225's on 8.5), and will be doing 245's for sure next.

Cheers

I have Rota Gravel 18 x 8.0's on my 06 WRX with 225s on them and there is a small bit of the rim exposed. Picture is below and you can just make out the exposed part. I would expect going 8.5 would expose that little bit more.
