Default Headlight Alignment

Since getting new lights (out of angle), and twisting the bolts at the back to get some sort of decent drivable angle tonight, i was unsure how the stock position was set at.

Currently, the lights are at an angle as such that there is about a 2m 'dark' gap from the front bumper to the light on the road.

Whats the optimum angle ??

find a workshop with a headlight aligner.

or if you have a wall, google for instructions.

from memory if you park about a meter away and draw a horizonal line along the top of your headlights low and high beam cannot go pass this line, im not sure about how to alter the up down axis.

yeah i need mine done, since getting my HID's put in, i think they are pointing all over the shop. I have tried aligning them to the best of my ability, but i still get flashed every time im out at night because some stooge thinks i have my high beams on.

Tode, if you find out how to do it, post up, or if u find a workshop with a headlight aligner, let me know where

The other alignment screw is left/right...

Best is to get another car with stocker headlights, line them up against a wall on FLAT ground and get them about the same...

I may be wrong, but i think this is intensional, as in, they're designed like that. Like most spot lights, one throws a pencil beam, and the other spreads the light out.

The left one in your car may be designed like this to spread light out across the nearest road edge (left is Aus), not sure if foreign models are the other way around... just a thought.
