Just labour charges. The rest e.g. dyno etc. are extra.

This is for Sean to fly over to KL for the tune up. I of course have to bear the airfare and accomodation costs.

blackmy03 12-07-2006 05:04 PM

that will involve shitloads of $$ for sure

Just like to say thanks to the guy I had a chat with at one of the RMS Driver Training days. I described some of the problems we were having with our Forester (2.5ltr, 3"tbe, VF34, Link). Would occasionally stall on cold start, in reverse, and sometimes upon takeoff. I had taken it back to the place it was originally tuned 3 times to have it sorted to no avail.

"The Guy" (Sorry, forgot your name), recommended that I take it to Speedworks and get Sean to have a look at it.

I did. 2Hrs and $440 later, the car is running like a dream. Running alot smoother, even between gear changes that we previously found jerky, and it has not stalled since. Top work Sean! The wife is very happy now.. and as we know.. Happy wife = happy life!

Glen.

Either Joey, both are good and should charge roughly the same price. Go with the one you feel most comfortable with. These days its usually who is available at the time....

Read the first page!

Kursar 15-06-2007 02:33 PM

i was told that speedworks dont work on em anymore

BOMB3R 15-06-2007 02:36 PM

Ring them, no better place than the horses mouth.........there not the only workshop listed either

Those cars don't really get driven much. Any ecu can get a nice peak HP figure and decent on WOT.

But if anybody thinks thats what's fun about driving then they are in the wrong car!

They don't do those POS map switching pieces of trash anymore.

Sketchey 15-06-2007 02:41 PM

anyone / any shops with experience in TT setups?

BOMB3R 15-06-2007 02:43 PM
anyone / any shops with experience in TT setups?
Not many workshops have experience with turbo's in Perth, mainly N/A. Might need to look over east.........

Clint 15-06-2007 02:44 PM

Need to be a bit more specific Skethey (Is that french for Sketchy?). Are you talking about just tuning a B4 etc or twin turboing your garden variety EJ20 from a WRX?

Jimmy S 15-06-2007 02:47 PM

very few workshops are familiar with the TT B4 setup, not sure why you would want to twin turbo a WRX tho?

You do realise he's making something very different. Not an endevour just anybody should really give a crack.

Having said that nothing is set and stone and it may not end up running Twins.

It might run a S/C H6 for all we know. It's not done yet!

jEstEr? 15-06-2007 05:02 PM

If your chasing improvments on the stock subaru TT system on either the gen2 or gen3, my advice is buy wrx single turbo gear and strap it on. dollar for horsepower, improving the stock TT setup is pushing shit up a hill

tuna 15-06-2007 11:14 PM

yes, unless you can understand japenese for the factory tuning secrets, its a well proven progression to a single spinner turbo for big hp/torque

liberty_b4 27-06-2007 09:35 AM

warranty void??

just wondering if anyone knows whether the new car warranty stays 100% intact after a service at any of these workshops, if so which ones??

P.S.
sorry to be a noob but i am one!!

pmh 27-06-2007 09:41 AM

as long as the workshop is a member of the MTA (Motor Trades Association - and that includes being a legit mechanic), its all good
i use the term legit loosely as everyone will have their story of each workshop (good and bad). best to try each one of them and use your judgement - ie will they go the extra mile for you

stinga 07-08-2007 12:45 PM

Just a quick heads up and thanks to the VERSO boys, Sean and Pete. My car had thrown a couple of CELs lately and the boys put it on the dyno, checked it out and retrimmed it ever so slightly for free of charge. Cannot complain about the service gentlemen, thank you
Before anyone asks, the tune had not changed, was a cruise AFR issue.
