strangely enough, that looks identical to the unit in my car.

STIMUL8IN 06-06-2012 09:39 PM

Hey Mao, can you supply only the rear view camera, under seat sub and all the harnessing? If so, be keen to see some pricing from you. PM if you like :) I've got the premium satnav as per your recent post above, am I right in saying these units just plug in the back?

Camera installation help?

Hi there!

I have just installed this head unit, except for the reversing camera. I would like to find some more help on exactly how to run the cable from the unit to the rear door. I don't want to bluff my way through if there's some expertise I could learn from here.

If anyone has some useful how-to information and maybe some photos for where to run the cable, that would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

mao 10-07-2012 11:21 AM

Sorry mate, missed your post.

You have to remove the rear boot trim if it is a sedan or remove the hatch trim and you will find the nuts holding the rear license plate light panel.

Mao, for these units can you get a transponder unit that clips to the steering wheel so you can change channels adjust volumes ect ?

mao 06-08-2012 08:25 PM

Unfortunately no. The do come with a remote control though.

However, we do offer the below as an optional steering wheel add-on. P.WRX $45 when you purchase a unit from us.

Awesome. Got my car all booked in. Looking forward to having a play. Does this unit have a direct iPod connection?

Sorry- saw that it has iPod connectivity. Is this only in the glove box or can you also run it to the centre arm rest bin?

You can run it as long as the cable itself

Kremer930 24-08-2012 08:30 AM

Does anyone run it to their centre arm rest bin? That woudl seem to be a good place for an ipod rather than just the glove box. Although if it has power and you can access the ipod menus from the satnav controls then I guess you dont have to even see the ipod.

mao 07-11-2012 08:15 PM

New reverse cam in stock. Works with most in-car DVD players with reverse cam functions.

This cam runs on CCDII technology aka Charge Coupled Device, giving better picture resolution.

Hi Mao,
Am new to this way of communicating.
Have just bought my wife a 2009 Forester XT MY09. Great wagon.
This post was started some time ago, are these units available for my subaru, do you need any patch leads for example the Aerpro patch harness etc. I take it it swaps for the factory unit without the need for a new fascia and finally what would it cost to supply one delivered to Newcastle. Including the camera.
Regards Phil

mao 25-07-2013 10:09 PM

Thank you for the enquiry. No patch loom needed. Plug n play. Reverse sensor has to be wired in though. Easy job, original factory loom is unaltered.

Currently waiting for 3 units to be flown in as I have customers here in Perth waiting.

Cheers.

catcha 26-07-2013 09:07 AM

Hi Mao,

Interested in this unit plus reverse Camera, will this unit fit a Subaru BRZ without having to get additoinal facial plate on the the side to fill the gap if there is any? Can you PM me a price please.

matto20v 26-07-2013 11:06 AM

I like the look of the universal unit. It looks clean, simple, and neat. Would be good to hear from anyone who has had one installed into a GC8 please.

Some pics from an install into a GC8 would also be appreciated.

Thank you,
Matt.
