Default Schumaker returns!

Seven-times world champion Michael Schumacher is making a sensational return to Formula One, Ferrari have announced.

The German motor racing legend, who retired in 2006, will replace injured Felipe Massa in the European Grand Prix in Valencia on August 23, and possibly for the remainder of the season.

Default Schumaker returns!

The legend is returning to F1 this year, jumping in Massa's car. Awesome news!

Whats the risk? They are 70 odd points behind in the constructors c'ship so nothing for them to lose anymore this season....and this will generate great interest and hype for the team.

I really hope it goes well, extremely interested to see how Schumi stacks up against the current crop of drivers/cars!

There isn't much risk for ferrari.

The risk is more for Schumaker. Doing a Jordan and coming out of retirement will dull the shine of his career... Unless he comes out and destroys the field. Which is very possible.

I'm really looking forward to how the Ferrari car can compete with Schumaker behind the wheel (is it the car or the driver that isn't winning this year) and how he goes against the new blood in the sport.

Going to be one memorable race!

Carlos Sainz has set the bar quite high for any professional drivers coming out of retirement, IMHO.
