Hi people, just want to know who install what type of other OS on their PS3? What are the pros and cons of installing other os?

Unless you want to have Linux on your TV, there is no point.

PS3 for games
PC for PC stuff.

well you could run the ps3 as a computer, I imagine you could get open office onto it and use it as a work machine... don't really see the point though

I've heard of people who have hooked up the ps3 to automate their houses though...

check out ps3news.com for linux info. Personally I wouldn't bother. Due to Sony restricting number of cells linux can access it's not the fastest computer in the world....
