oh well such is life.....
|
but where is the line?
whats next, gps systems mandatory in cars indicating where you are and how fast your going etc...i know that sounds extreme but thats the direction we are heading. I dont want my life regulated by the government. |
I've been saying it for months...we are slipping into (actually no, that's wrong we're already in) a nanny / police / dictatorship state.

anyone seen V for vendetta? possible future for us... i 100% agree |
Meh, it's a crock of shit to make the Today Tonight blue rinse set feel like something is being done to protect the children on the internet.
So I guess when this is running, I won't be able to access 4chan as 4chan.org will undoubtedly be on the black list. No problems, worst case scenario I'll have to connect via an onion router ;) Or I'll just download hardcore porno to project onto a wall for kids to see via a means other than http... Oh dear, did no one tell the governement there are other parts to the net than just web pages? |
It's almost never about what they tell us it's about IMO
anyone with a small amount of computuing skills knows how easy it is to get around filters, so those that really want to get around it will. Giving the government the power to block what websites it wants to....I'm actually surprised it took this long for them to get around to doing this, considering some of the stuff out there. and yes, V for vendaetta.....hmmmm not such a far cry from the truth IMO |
So when can i start blowing shit up then?
|
China, Australia... SAME!
|
Control the population through fear & staged "terrorist attacks", anthrax scares, swine flu blah blah blah
|
China, Australia... SAME!
Actually China's filter is 100x better than the one we will be getting. China Internet > Aussie Internet :( Waits for the vote to come in for a republic dictatorship... |

According to the news between 1,000rmb & 10,000rmb so roughly $17 - $170, I actually found a couple (not that I was looking lol) The add even said dob in your competitor but buggered if I'm going to the cops, probably end up getting deported or just disappearing. |
Grave digging a thread

Communications Minister Stephen Conroy has had the phrase "ISP Filtering" censored from a tag cloud on his own website.
The "censorship" of his own site was first discovered by Whirlpool broadband forum user "Rupple" and later blogged by Pure Geekdom. The minister's website has a piece of javascript in it that prevents the phrase "ISP Filtering" from appearing in a tag cloud that shows popular search terms on the minister.dbcde.gov.au website. Screenshot of source code (Credit: Ben Grubb/ZDNet.com.au) The above code snippet says that the term "ISP Filtering" be ignored when generating the tag cloud, effectively censoring it from the most popular search topics on the front page of the minister's site. To see a video demonstration, here is a YouTube video showing how the script works. What's the deal, minister? Don't you want the public to know just how "popular" your ISP Filtering scheme is? |

Conroy clearly does not understand the technology and implications
of his filter. He never will... he won't even be able to understand or comprehend the fact that he does not understand. Its kind of like trying to teach a cat the concepts of ohms law. Not only will it not understand, it has no comprehension or admission that it doesn't understand because the concepts are beyonds its mental capacity. Classic example of how monkeys can govern. |
