I just bought the GTPro cockpit thingy for the G27 wheel.

From my research around it was the cheapest setup available. The closest other one is the Playseat, but I wasn't a fan how there is a pole between your legs to hold up the steering wheel.

If you want a quality pre-assembled unit, this is the way to go. Seat is comfy, comes on sliders too so you can adjust it and the back rest can incline - just like a car seat.

My former employer (gamefreak) asked me to make these a while a go, it's not the best design but it wasn't my idea so explains it a bit.

what I used:

Two bucket seats, cheap ones ( I think it was $200/ pair)
25x25x3 shs four lengths (6Mtr)
secondhands car seat rails, I had to modify them to suit the seats and fit to the frame, but was actually pretty easy for a good boilermaker like me, haha.
The table folds up for easy access, the holder for the pedals was in height adjustable and adjustable in length ( for people with longer legs)
and the whole thing was in several pieces, easy to store away when not in use.

The journey is more important than the destination.

I remember there being a write up in one of the old Auto Salon magazines on how to make one of these out of one of those $20 bunnings shelving kits. I did actually make one a few years back but ended up chucking it out when we moved house and just kept the seat and steering wheel.

I will see if I can find exactly what issue it was in as I still have the magazine lying around somewhere

hahahaha that is awesome. looks like he is about to take off into space when accelerating. Would probably knock a spectator out if they aren't careful.
