Default Chair/Cockpit/Playseat - Where to buy??

Hi guys,

I have mainly car racing games on my PS3 including GT5 Prologue, Colin McRae Dirt 2, F1 2010 etc and I am tired of playing them by attaching my steering wheel to our uber low coffee table and hitting my fkn knees!

The time has come to purchase a racing cockpit/playseat, I've seen this one on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Next-Level-Ra...item1c1708ff76) but can't really justify spending $600+.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for something similar to this but a bit cheaper?

Cheers,
Josh

I didn't want to get slugged the minimum $500 to get one, so I decided to build my own, which is easy for me as I have access to the equipment to needed! Sheetmetal shop at work... Booyah!

Will post pics when its complete. Aim to have it done before the end of the year! Wanted to have it done in time for GT5, but I don't think that will happen now! Damn work, uni, house!

Got a great seat for it too!

You should sketch out some rough plans of your cockpit. Might help others if they are wanting to do the same thing but dont know where to start!

Thumbs up

Just keep an eye out for a keep GC8 seat and knock up one yourself from MDF then paint it and enjoy.

Something similar to this but a bit more stylish haha:

Here's one that's a little more than what you want but it shows you what's possible when you do it yourself.

I'm building two of them, so far it has cost me about $250, but will probably end up being $350 - $400 in total by the time i've bought the checkerplate and painted them. Obviously that's not including the steering wheels and seats.

I might consider making them, if there is enough interest!

Once its finished I'd be happy to throw up some drawings.
