Check out the SATA3 SSD's. There is a difference between SATA2 and 3 where the cable is notably different. I transferred a 1.8GB file in less than 10 seconds

running a 120gb ocz agility 3 in one of my pc's at home. No issues at all. Decent speeds. SATA 3 mode.

If you have the cash, you can't go past the new RevoDrives. Hitting 1000mb/s read/writes!

There are extra pins that permits higher bandwidth. Check out SATA3 cables compared to SATA2

No... all sata cables have 7 pins. 3 ground and 4 active data pins.

If they had more pins then they wouldnt be backward compatible.

2 x 120GB OCZ SSDs in Raid-0 "Raid-O" shares the load over two drives.

Urban myth that SSD drives only last a few years or so many hours of work.

I haven't seen one fail yet.

Its not an urban myth. Its just that people should not be worried about it as that number of writes is quite large eg. Intel says theirs will last 5years with 20GB of writes per day. Dont know that many people who would come even close to that.
NAND chips on the drives have a limited number of rewrites and that is a fact.
If the chip dies of too many writes, you can still read the data from it.
Then the discussion goes into MLC vs SLC...
In normal usage, people should not be worried about the longetivity of the chips. Most issues are with the controllers.

I bought a brand new OCZ Vertex 2 120GB SSD and I had it fully refunded as it one day decide to die and become undetectable.

I tried to update the firmware when I first got the SSD but my drive was being detected so I couldn't updated it, and in the end Im pretty sure it was the not up to date firmware that fucked the SSD.

Anyway today I purchased a corsair 120GB sata 3 SSD (the batch after the ones that were recalled) and I'm just about to install and update all firmware.
