Default Which ISP for gaming?

Hope this is the right place for this but i am looking for the best ISP for online gaming.
I have done a little research on isp`s and had a little look for recommended packages but would rather have some recommendations from the members who are gamers.
Thanks guys awaiting your replies.

iiNet, set SCM Profile to Gamer, pings of 8ms to Perth servers, winning?

If you're gaming on WA servers all the mainstream ISP's will net roughly the same results.

From my experience it's only international servers where your connection will come into play.

I'm using TPG's umlimited adsl2+ and have no issues, you can also use bandwidth allocation software to direct X amount of bandwidth to certain processes so you can multitask unaffected.

I have been wanting to do this for a long time hey. Would I be able to allocate 20% of my bandwidth to one computer and 80% to my computer? If so this would eliminate parents/mates from lagging me out while playing Hon haha :P

I've been very unimpressed with most routers ability to QoS things. The application thats getting priority works fine but it tends to make everyone else suffer big time.

dota/dota2 4life

on topic;

westnet & iinet i'd recommend. People seem to like TPG though for their plans.

But one thing that wont matter which isp you choose is: line speed. data transmission loss is a bitch. my linespeed is only 3mb max .. Can only dl at 300kbps at most.

I've never done this over a network but would assume it would be possible. I use to use netlimiter in my more aggressive downloading days.

As did I, until I learnt about the scheduler in utorrent
80-90% of my downloading occurs in off peak now.

I mainly play TF2, L4D, L4D2 & KF these days on many different servers (Gamearena, 3FL, etc) and rarely have issues with lag or pings (90% of the time they are under 75ms).
This in on an iiNet home 4 or 5 plan connecting at 8mbit (yay for rims!).

Yea I play Hon mainly as it has a matchmaking system, dota games always end up with people raging/leaving.

And I'm with TPG on their unlimited ADSL2+ Off Net Plan which apparently uses Telstra's lines, but due to my location I only recieve around 8MB - 12MB max speed instead of 24MB
