Anyone with a CNC mill/lathe, the proper attachments and some skill can machine a gearset....only a specialist can heat treat it properly and make it last.

Yeh me too, definitely worth a look into though. Would be good to get feedback from someone apart from him too.

I've asked him for some et and MPH stats because he says he's run the box at the creek, but in another thread dated the 2nd feb he's looking for a straight cut box cause he just blew his gearbox.

What he'll probably do, is run a PPG and tell everyone he made it himself and it looks "exactly like a PPG set".

Then, he'll sell 10 of these shitty 2 grand gearsets, and go into hiding once people start hunting him down after their boxes break.

i have wrx and blew the box.
after shopping around i cant find gears for less than $4500 which really pisses me off cause i know that ppg or other companys that make the gears are making a killing off anyone one that buys them (there laughing all the way to the bank)

im a metal machiner by trade and i have machined about 100 round billet pieces, thats enough to make a shit load of boxes. ill be honest with everyone all the metal i bought didnt cost me much at all, ive found a guy that has a milling machine to make the teeth on the pieces i have machined (the gears are precisely to the thou)

if any one is interested in straight cut gears im going to sell them for about $2000 $1st to 4th and with the shafts, i have to make the shafts as ive been very busy ive had no time, but there not hard (for someone that knows what there doing)

im not going to make forks simply because i cant be bothered, there not expensive anyway you can get them for about $350 each thats if you want them.

im not interested in making money i just want to help people that are fustrated like i was.
ive put the box in my car and so far its sweeeeeeet!

he is sick of looking to pay 5 grand for PPG gear sets so he has decided to make his own........apparently he has a 280KW ATW WRX and Launches it all the time with his own gearbox and still going strong.....
