yep. Simon has it spot on.

I remember when I was young and stupid I used to think it stood for "World Rally Experimental"

LOL. As if it were some sort of car that people would use to experiment with rallying.

No it doesnt mean World Rally Cross.

Rally Cross is an entirely different sport all together, and the car was not developed for this at all.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rallycross will provide more info as to what Rally Cross is.

I've heard that the X doesnt mean anything at all, but the WR stands for World Rally.
