Verso with cat/turbo back exhaust
Hi guys,
After reading much positive feedback on the Verso tune, I am considering getting ASG to tune my MY05. I currently run an RMS cat-back exhaust. I was wondering if there was much gain to be made by first upgrading to a complete turbo back exhaust with the Verso tune over the current cat back (with a Verso tune)? ie is there much difference between a cat-back with Verso tune compared to a turbo-back with Verso tune? Obviously, if I plan to upgrade in the future anyway, its cheaper to do so before the tune. Anyway, any thoughts are appreciated.

Hey mate,
They would definitely be a difference. Personally i wouldn't do the Verso until i had the TBE on, but it depends on how far you want to do with your car of course. If you do a TBE + Verso, you'll prolly wanna do the Fuel Pump too, particularly if you'd up the boost on your tune. The main downside of the standard exhaust, especially the dump pipe, is that when the wastegate from the turbo opens, it slams right up to a 90 degree bend, which really slows down the exhaust gasses. I'd highly recommend a TBE, search these forums, there is lots of info available. A nice S/S system, 3" with a nice dump pipe and a oval muffler was my choice. Richard.

RMS have said they would upgrade my current cat-back to a full tbe, for the cost of the difference - seems fair. Seems to be the way to go.
Cheers guys.

You will of course see better results with a TBE over the cat back, but some impressive results have been had on a car with only a cat-back.

the most gains from an zorst are actually from the dump pipe.
all you've got with the dif back is the sound, none of the performance benefits. |

Verso tune would make a big difference even with stock exhaust imo. Sean got plenty out of my car with only 3" catback, have a look at verso website and dyno graphs for various tuned rex's some stock and some modded.
