Default Cold Start Question on MY04 WRX

Hey Guys

I have just purchased myself a MY04 WRX. Now at cold start, does this sound normal?
Starting the car, she initially Revs up to 2000RPM but backs off to 1600, while idling at this RPM the car feels as though she is bouncing. I popped the bonnet to have a listen to the engine and it's not making any knocking noises. While driving yesterday morning in the car it felt as though the car was bouncing aswell.
Has anyone had this happen to there WRX before? Is this normal or do I need to have her sussed out by Subaru.

Cheers

I have an MY04 and it does the same, not quite 2000 but somewhere around 1750rpm.

Same for me. Cold idle is around 1500rpm. Once warm it sits on 800rpm

Hey Guys

Yep the idle when warm, sits around 700 - 750 but the whole bouncing experience is this normal "while cold that is"? This is obviously the design of the engine. A boxer engine!

Cheers

yeah, even my 97 does it, hunts up and down ( up to 1500 odd ) at idle when cold but once warm settles to normal smooth(ish) idle.

ThanX for the info guys! I will have to get an intro thread going soon along with pics. I've had my MY04 WRX all of 3 days. Such a brilliant car to drive!
