Default Lanuching the sti

Ok someone help here i just cant get used to launching this bloody car. Tried at round 4500 then clutch out. Results in burnt clutch if i release too slow and a half decent takeoff but burnt clutch. If too fast no clutch smoke and bogs down. What am i doing wrong?? really shitting me. Car is 02 sti which is stock. Any suggestions for me?

Done a decent launch in my 02sti at about 6k,find the engaging spot position with the clutch pedal fluctuate the revs, just dont hold it there at that point, and upon hitting ur desired revs, slip the clutch out and let it hook up.
I had a bit of clutch smell....but felt good.

when i went to WAW a few weeks back and anything over 6500 works best, or the full limit launch. Take it from me these launches put a smile on ya dial Tried from lower but all it did was bog down and cost time. Apparently the 6 speed is stronger but i didn't and wouldn't want to test that out too much $$$$$$$$ If you are smelling your clutch most of the time it might be time for an upgrade. I can be fairly brutal on mine (82XXX km's) and what i can smell doesn't concern me, it only lets me know i'm driving an STI

You can get some very good launches away without the clutch smell.
I've haven't done many, but i got some good ones around 5k and didn't get the smell. I guess it's just about the timing.

Chris - Nice one.
