My rego was due yesterday but I have lost the bill so couldnt pay it. I will be ringing them on tuesday to do so but I have been told that my insurace will now be void if i had a prang.

Appreciate it if someone could clear it up for me.

Even if it has expired. You can still renew it. Apparently you have up to 3months past expiry to renew.

I just renewed my other car one and a half months late. I rang up to confirm and all is okay. they sent me the sticker in the post.

there is 2 weeks leeway to pay your rego where its still covered by third party insurance. after the 2 weeks you're not covered by third party insurance. dont let the rego expire more than 1 month or else you will have to take your car over the pits (depending on the year of your car that is, if its a pre 90 or wateva year it is you get more time after expiration to pay rego without taking it over the pits or something like that). you dont need to have your renewal form to pay your rego, well at the licensing centre you can just go in with your id (drivers licence) and pay it, cant go to the post office as you need your form there and once its overdue you cant go to the post office, must go to the licensing centre

what bout my car insurance like if it gets stolen or i crash into a beema or something is that covered?

most likely not mate

if u forget to renew it, they sent out another bill with a little 'omg u forgot pay this now' and give u another month. After that, they give u the last one, to say u owe us this much, hand in your plates ^_^

Get in touch with Brenden (Wrexx) for all your DPI needs. After all he works there. I would ring the insurance company and inform them the rego might not be paid for x number of days. If they say it's cool cause you told them then all is sweet. That should ease your mind till it's paid. As long as you tell them, I would say they would put a little note on your file just in case something happens. Also make sure you get the details (name, time of call etc) of whoever you speak to so you have something to fall back on should you need it.
