Default Front Cuts..

Am getting extremely shitty with things going wrong on the ol bug eye, and me and 4MUFF were talking of STi front cuts.

I've got an 01 bug eye and would really like to grab an STi cut with gbox motor and diffs ? Any ideas on rough ballpark figures and or whats involved besides the usual rewiring of ECU and loom?

10-15k for 02sti with 6 speed and such?

No need to rewire. Will be a straight conversion. Use the loom from the halfcut.

JWS had engine and gearboxes out of 06 test cars for around $13 or $14. Dont know if they have any left though.

Cheers

I concurr.

Add 2-4k of labour if you are not doing the conversion yourself.

I reckon we need some Subaru JDM import competition in WA, because IMHO, the prices we have to pay for half cuts and parts is fucking ridiculous.

try ichiban over east. The front cut they have for sale are a HUGE amount cheaper than JWS and the cost for getting the front cut over here is only around $500. Even including the cost of frieght, its still cheaper than JWS and they usually provide a 3 or 6 month warranty..

http://www.ichiban.com.au/

I know a lot of the RSLC boys over east have used them and some over here too and so far all has been good news. They'll even do a compression test and other check before you buy and ship it over.

A gc8 WRX front cut is usually under $2K. An older model GC8 (td05 pre96) is around $1500. Though I dont know about prices for newer STI front cuts but its worth checking out.
