Did it chip or crack? If its a small chip dont bother. If it's cracked, large cracks usually require replacement - Check your policy, some entitle you to a free windscreen every year or so, but be careful, your premiums might be at stake if your insurance doesnt offer this.

In the meantime, put some strong clear adhesive tape along the crack to stall the cracking until you decide on your repair method.

Its unlikely that they will repair one that big. Also if it is in front of you or a passenger they wont fix it.

Chances are your insurance will replace one a year for free. Need to check your policy.

O'brian's ftw...

Although my rock chip was a lot smaller, they repaired it... cost me $95 I think

All depends on your insurance, RAC offer free windscreen replacement / two repairs a year without paying any excess or loss of ncb - only if you are on a max ncb though.

bummer...i went to RAC today and asked about it.... im on 40% ncb....so it wont be free for me....

o'briens quoted (repairs): on site $118 and at branch $98
Instant : on site $75 and at branch $55

i popped down to Instant and asked them about it....and they said its been 'shelled'
SO...now i think it needs to be replaced....

Thanks
