Hi All,

I have this puppy on the way from NZD, can't wait to get it installed and tuned. Will be running the Process West TMIC for now, along with an Autronic SM4 and Eboost2....

Watch this space.....

cheers

Game on!

Looks tough. Cars in Japan are making around 260-280kw at the wheels with this turbo with conservative boost.

Should be an animal!

Huy 01-08-2007 06:09 PM

Hey....that's mine!!

Good luck, should haul ass. ;)

xeon 01-08-2007 06:13 PM

haha I was waiting for you to take the plunge Gav! Can't wait to see the results :)
Hey....that's mine!!

Yeh I thought you might have bought this one also, I was surprised that it was still for sale.

I got it as it was going to be a 3 month wait from Greenline or Nengun.

Xeon, will still find it hard to keep up with the 2.5, but this should get me closer.

cheers

madmax 01-08-2007 06:52 PM

what sort of figure if you don't mind me asking?

STI325V6 01-08-2007 06:54 PM
what sort of figure if you don't mind me asking?
If you mean cost, just under $3K.....

Evidencee 01-08-2007 06:55 PM

Cant wait to see the power that baby gives.
Should be good!

mr_psi 01-08-2007 07:07 PM

great qaulity turbo!

DarkMoose 01-08-2007 08:42 PM

May be hard to keep up to the 2.5 for a few runs but we all know which engine is gonna last longer :P

My 2.5's older than your car! Liberty 2.5 from the 90's :D

207 de 02-08-2007 09:08 AM

so it's going on a 207? not a 2.5?

nice, if it was a 2.5 I'd get a 3037 for sure...

HKS only have the GT2530Kai and GT2835 as bolt on options, I wish they did the GT3037. I have also have a GT2835 on order from Nengun.

jEstEr? 02-08-2007 01:06 PM

any pics of the exhaust housings inlet? every twinscrool turbo i have seen has had 2 wastegates

I believe its just a twin entry single scroll, but I have never seen one up close.

207 de 02-08-2007 03:55 PM

bolt on hey? Nice, I thought they all needed some fabrication...

Well that brings down the total cost a bit..

Far out there's going to be some quick rex's round soon...

My Tomei/HKS/Bozz Speed setup was only about $4500 which compared to $3000~ for a used stock twinscroll IHI setup it is a bargain.

Disco Potatoes... August flavour of the month!

WagonRS 02-08-2007 05:41 PM

Can anyone tell me whats the difference is between a twin scroll and say.... a TDo5? Im not all that cluey on my turbos....

POLARBEAR666 02-08-2007 05:58 PM

try using google or the search button before asking a question answered many many times please.

Mister Two 02-08-2007 06:00 PM

Twin scroll turbos separate the exhaust gases out by pairing two cylinders. You get less gas turbulence and hence slightly better flow. Improvement in spool and overall torque.

Twinscroll:

Single Scroll;

Had the HKS GT2835 installed on the car today.

Taking it relatively easy as car not tuned yet, all I can say is when this thing comes on boost it is like getting hit in the head with a frypan.....

Autronic is installed and tuned this week coming, looking forward to the results.

cheers

Huy 10-08-2007 08:18 PM

Got pics? I want to see it in the car, Gav. :D
Got pics? I want to see it in the car, Gav. :D
Here is a photo for you Huy, there's not much to see though as HKS provide a nice shiny Stainless Steel Heat cover in the Kit.

Note the braided line, I tell you HKS make quality gear. My mechanic did have to grind part of the gearbox housing off, this was in the instructions but he can't read Japanese :D , he only found out cause the turbo wouldn't bolt down properly......

i wouldnt suggest booting it untuned

STI325V6 10-08-2007 08:58 PM
i wouldnt suggest booting it untuned
Yep I agree, I have been taking it easy as I don't want to break anything.

I have given it one boot and backed off at 1 bar, it doesn't seem to go past 1 bar, obviously to do with not being tuned yet....

cheers

Sounds like a bit of a contradiction - take Tuna's advice - don't flog it until it's tuned.

WRXTASY 11-08-2007 12:10 AM

Mixja's old setup if I'm not mistaken.

Off his old MY06 Spec C Type RA - 2.2l Stroker
Sold for around AUS$44 000 :(
His numbers:
Pump Gas (98 RON) - 282KW ATW @ 21PSI

http://www.rexnet.com.au/forum/index.php?showtopic=57364&st=40

Be interesting to see what it does on the 2.0lt :)

Huy 11-08-2007 07:57 AM

^^ Can't believe he sold it!! But i recall him saying he'll be back with another next year..

I get ya, but I swear I only did it once... :D

Car goes to the tuner today.....

maddog 11-08-2007 09:21 AM

So what rpm's did it spool at? Share that love :D
So what rpm's did it spool at? Share that love :D
Hard to say without it being tuned yet, about 600rpm later than the VF36.

Hit 1bar at about 3900rpm in 4th gear....

That'll all change a bit when it's tuned too. Sounds like SOOOOOO much fun :)

madmax 11-08-2007 10:23 PM

trying to find this online..

still no luck

unless i end up getting through some guy in america[delivered via japan though] which is currently out of stock

I had my car at ASG tonight, too cut a long story short I had an Autronic SM4 installed and tuned a couple of weeks ago and have not been happy, car idled poorly, cold started poorly, stalled and used a truck load of fuel for little km's.

Decided to have a power run with the SM4 then put the standard ECU back on the car and get it re-versoed.....

The results speak for themselves, the lighter lower lines is the car with the SM4, above is the Verso :-

Sean advised that the car was running out of injectors, the AFR map is the second chart, car is now good to drive again and pulls harder than a 14 year old schoolboy :D :D

POLARBEAR666 27-08-2007 09:57 PM

What was the issue with SM4. isnt that meant to be just 1 level below motec?

STI325V6 27-08-2007 10:02 PM
What was the issue with SM4. isnt that meant to be just 1 level below motec?
Too put it politely I think the issue was the tuner of the SM4, this was NOT ASG by the way!!

cheers
