AHG 3YR 175,000km Warranty?
Hi all, just wanted to know if anyone here has bought a
used wrx/sti from an AHG dealer with the 3yr 175,000km warranty. If so have you made a claim on this warranty and what does it cover and do you still have to pay part of the repairs? The car im interested will run out of factory warranty in the next few months so i want to know if this warranty they are giving is actually a good deal or a bullshit scam like other warrantys. Wayne

theyre a waste of time, most have a $100 inspection fee and the like too
if you choose the car carefully, u wont need the warranty if your going to buy one that will need it, get the price lowered and pay for the repairs yourself when it breaks

the warranty isnt worth shit!!! i bought mine from ozzy park subi and in the 1st 4 weeks of having the car my power steering pump died, so i took it back and had to pay $700 out of the $1200! the warranty will cover the first $500 unless you pay the extra $1500 (i think) and then it pays up to $1500 per claim. but you have to take your car back to the same dealer every 6 months for a service.
So dont worry bout the warranty and dont bother paying for the extra warranty...its crap!!

Yeah i agree whole heartedly. Look for a car that won't need the repairs. I wouldnt spend the $1200 it costs to get the warranty in the first place. It is a waste of money. My g/f had it on her last car, power steering rack died, she had to pay $600 to get it fixed and warranty covered the rest.
At the end of the day chose a car you are happy with, and get it checked out by a reputable subaru repairer (ASG, Speedworks, RMS, MMS etc) Any dealer should let you get an independent check on the vehicle. I drove my STi from Lane Ford in Mandurah to ASG in Malaga to get it checked out. |

Well i must be the only fool that payed the extra 2gs for extended warranty for my sti. Wish I didn't get it now. But what can you do we all make mistakes. Even worse my clutch is fucked and the warranty doesn't cover AWD clutch systems. Ripppeddd offfff.

Thanks heaps for your experiances guys, its made my decision
on buying that particular car easy now. Definately wont be getting it but if anyones interested in the car, its a CGM 04/05 STI from ossy park subi its got 23,000kms and they are asking $48,990 but if you say you saw it at subi wangara for 44,990 they will honor that price. Its having a coil pack replaced and they also had the whole dash out for possible other repairs that they didnt mention. Its a good price but its an ex-sydney car and the factory warranty runs out in Dec.
