losing traction is good....less stress on gearbox and drivetrain....

Agreed, if the tyres are super sticky and it cant spin the wheels, then there is far more torque/shock loading applied to the gearbox, when you dump the clutch than if the wheels spin.

I think he is trying to see if his rex has more power since it can spin the wheels. But this is quite normal as all cars will spin wheel(s) if you drop if from high enough revs.
