Default Car Bra

Getting sick of bugs in the radiator on long trips.

Has anyone used a car bra?

Did it do any damage as far as rub marks to the paint or flap and be very annoying.

Who does good ones that will fit a pig???

What about the bunnings mod? Get some shade cloth, find some mounting points that won't scratch up the paint and viola.

Besides I would've thought the bugs wouldn't be imbedded too far cause you've got the slowest Piggie in Perth

I used to have one for my HSV VX GTS. I ordered it from CarBra Aust. Absolutely perfect fit. In my opinion it was well worth the outlay. I went down south soon after I bought it and got stuck behind a truck, it showered me with stones and I thought, 'Fcuk, I'm gunna need to respray my front end' Got to Pemberton and took off the carbra, which was completely covered in bugs and shit. To my utter surprise there wasn't a mark on my front bar - anywhere. It paid for itself there and then.

Cheers

Yep carbra make good ones. Got one for the pig, never really used it. But the previous owner said it had no effect on engine temps so I'm assuming it shouldn't be an issue.

I'm happy for you to try it out if you like. Drop me a PM.

Yea, I just tried mine out for the first time on the weekend. The weather was wet at times, trip started in the dark, on arrival it shore did its job, heaps of bugs and no new stone chips,it did not flap around, and did not mark the paint work. The down side! as it got wet it needed to dried out or placed in a big bag. When it was time to head home I did not put it back on as there was mud, bugs, road grime which would have scratched the car?? when I got home cleaning it was a bit of a challenge.I will use it again but only in the dry.

i have one too... did a trip up to exmouth and back with it along with a few runs down south.. never affected the temps.. though it was rather hot due to 40 degrees + but it did have good flow in the right spots... and never had a stone single stone chip. I know you need to remove it regularly due to weathering etc.
My brand is 'Abracardarbra' ... im looking to sell mine if i get the right price

I have one for each of my cars, a great investment. for the $300-400 you pay, they save a whole lot after that first long trip. The bra will be a little tight when new but loosens up with use. Also, make sure you are careful with the bendy clips as these can snap internally if bent and straightened too often.

Oh: makes your car look like a prototype of some sort. The amount of people who used to stop and ask me about the car and if it was a test car for the next model was unbelievable.

Acctualy starting to thing of that 3M film stuff and then just using the old bunnings spec shade cloth in front of the radiator when expecting bugs.

Figure the film will stop the shade cloth scratching and can get it fitted behind the front doors without going for mudflaps.

Has anyone used it and is it as good as it looks.

Anyone know who does it so I can go have a snoop.

never used it, but have seen it on cars after a few country kms. Not pretty with heaps of scratches and dings in it. Car Bra is the best option.
