Importing my jdm sti v5 type r
Well, things are looking good from this end and if all goes well we should be moving back to Perth from the UK by July next year.
I deffo want to bring my 1998 jdm sti version 5 type r 2 door with me when i come as i know of its rarety over there. The question is ??? I realise the car will have to be returned to standard form beforehand but this isnt a problem as i kept all the std bits and the std ecu. Can anybody see any problems i might encounter with the vehicle approval ? Will the kmph speedo be ok ? or will it need to display both kmph and mph ? Thanks guys in advance for any help given. Im looking forward to meeting some of you when we get there.

Its a jdm kmph speedo running an mph converter, so if i take that off it will just return to its usual kmph. Just wasnt sure if it had to display both kmph and mph.
Thanks

Yeah I think I sold him the pod for his car, 280kph & 10g tacho, only needs to show KPH, JDM one will be no problems getting it over the pits provided it's the 180kph one so just remove the speedo cover that's on yours.

if its a personal import, yuo don't need to return it to stock, you can import it as is, well AFAIK, that is how the import rules go, just need to proove you've owned it for more than 12 months and apply to dotars for import approval
