really?

i haven't heard much about the 43

so you are saying the 43 is a ball bearing version of the 39 in a similar fashion that the 34 is to the 30? and by virtue of this comparispn you feel the 43 and 39 are lesser turbos?

not lesser, just smaller. Have a squizz on NAIOC, the 39 is what came with their 2.5. Perfect for good response, makes me think the 2.5 really is 220kw, especially if it's tuned for 98RON.

Turbo may die above 6000 but a VF22 on the 2.5 would go pretty good me thinks.

Vf43? The chap at Melville’s didn’t know but said it was a twin scroll. Seems Subaru are targeting an older market (my group!) with a very early spool up, you will always be in the right gear for fast response, no lag. Something like Volkwagen and Volvo turbo cars. The downside is it will taper off above 5000rpm. Most of this forum would go the other way so there will be a good market for a turbo to match the high end capability without loosing too much low end.

so has anyone been able to confirm what turbo, pistons & injectors are fitted to the STi? Also, are there any difference between the 06 WRX & STi motors (excluding turbo)?
