can i put a good aftermarket exhaust on and still upgrade the pipes later or will the muffler not go on the stock pipes as i heard that the rex pipes are 3"inch?

cat back exhaust at OEM diameter wont really give any real performance increase
most of the restriction is in the dump pipe.

You can get full 3 inch Stainless TBE systems for $600 that bolt on off a member by the name of Dylan.

Do a search for: "Drifta_R32"

China Spec mate.

Ive got one on my car, sounds good and decent performance too. Definitely not quite as good as the Jap systems or something with a split dump, but Id say the difference in flow will probably result in less than 10kw difference ATW. But for $600, who gives a shit. Lots of people on here have these systems.

Unless you are out to squeeze every little bit of HP out of your car (Eg stripping your car of its sound deadening etc), go for a $2,000 Trust Exhaust. If you want power gains with a nice note, like ive said a thousand times, dylans exhausts are hard to beat.

And i am yet to see a trust vs china spec exhaust comparrison on power gains. Id be very intrested to see the difference for the extra $1400

I can vouch for Dylan spec exhaust, looks and sounds great IMO, cant go wrong for 600 bucks. Top bloke too!

At 16 PSI made 174kW at the wheels and 400Nm with just exhaust and K&N Panel Filter. And verso tune of course.

Thats on an 07 WRX

I paid $2200 for my Exhaust - Through some dude out in the country who puts exhausts together for Porche, apparently.

Stainless all the way through, bell-mouth dump, oval muffler .. excellent welds, perfect fit, nice deep boxer note - installation included.
