I have a 89' RS Legacy JDM, i have upgraded to ECU from the standard JDM 8 bit ecu to a WRX JDM 16-bit.
My car needs to be tuned or remapped because not running very well.
Just require some places in perth that will tune the car.

You can't really tune a stock ECU, unless you fit a ROM, interceptor, piggy back or a replacement ECU.

Any of the places who normally tune these could sort it out.

All-Star Garage, Revlimit Motorsport, Maximum Motorsport, Race Torque are 4 places to consider straight away.

RS ECU is essentially the same as Early GC8 (94-96). You can reflash them with VERSO.

Other options are:

VOS chip - Upgraded ROM chip that slots into the spare socket inside the ECU. Has much better Maps and more boost.
Power FC - Best bang for buck Aftermarket ECU for RS Liberty. theres one for sale ATM on the RSLC forums. www.rslibertyclub.org

Older style ecu's run a 27C1028 Chip.

There are some variants to this as the real deal is as rare as rocking horse shit, you can make an adapter board to use two 27C512k chips to mimic the 27C1028 . Its a headache to do it this way and i highly recommened going to someone who can supply real 27C1028's.

Also VOS chips are fairly blind in operation, would be wary about what actual "tune" is inside them. IF you do go down a blind tune map, have it checked out by a workshop of choice as you dont want to spend another 6 -8 k rebuilding a motor for a 250 blind tune.
