My bet is fell asleep and threaded the gap between the guard rail and the fence just buy pure luck. Woke up with a headache thinking that post and guard rail are bloody close and wondering why the airbag is in the way.

Yes he is a clown if that is the case cos could very easily taken someone else out driving in that condition.

Much as it would make a better story there is no way he was airbourne over the rail without leaving some sort of mark on it.

Either way bet he is having a hard time with the crap his mates are heaping on him for it.

I doubt he got airborne too, but :

1 - it looks rural - wildlife may have been involved.
2 - its at an intersection, perhaps they got cut off and had to swerve to avoid hitting the car.

I could keep going for ages with 1 million reasons they crashed without making them a clown, but Im sure you get my point. Bit unfair to label them really.
