This may be of interest to some. I agree its ugly but talking to people about it that arnt die hard Subaru fans they seem to like it on the whole - not all Grandads like me either.

The Price is just under 60K plus on roads

Base STI is up $2,000 from the previous model.

$5,000 extra for Rims & Seats may not be worth it

Rims are the same size, just lighter (about 3kg) and uglier than the std STi ones. Recaros are definitely very sexy tho...

I am pretty sure that the 08 WRX STI I test drove had 18's on it and as said the Recaros are very nice indeed.

Both the BBS and standard rims are 18's Dave.

"Standard" spec STi and Spec-R STi both have 18 x 8.5 rims. Spec R are BBS with many spokes and are lighter. Standard STi are Subaru (possibly Enkei) five spokes and are heavier (but IMO, better looking).
MY08 WRX rims are probably 18 x 7.5.
