I went to Tokyo for the MY08 STi launch and sat in both spec'ed version of the STi. Can't justify the additional $5k cost for the Spec R (BBS wheels and Recaro seats)

Go to http://forum.wrxownersclub.com.au/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=9 to view my pics of the new STi.

The Recaro seats are worth a fair bit are they not? Mmmm id wait for 09,10 STi to come out. Smoooooth out those design flaws, get a few more verso/ECU capable tunes up to scratch and more items to bolt on.

Any idea what turbo the STi will be running? I take it, it will no be the IHI's VF35 Thrustbearing Turbo?

STi's haven't been running VF35's since 05 (I think?)

06 - VF39/43
07 - VF43

Ohh yeah *smacks head* i remember Vyper (i think) selling his VF43.

Well then i spose the next question is, what will they use? Maybe they should include, if they have not already, a twinscroll STi setup. I mean, the boxer sound is loved and all, but i think the STi is more of a performance machine and would help make a difference to the WRX/STi saga.

There is a twinscroll...

In Japan though.

Australia gets the 2.5L though. Personally I would have paid extra for the 2.0L twinscroll option, but that aint happening

Yeah was referring to the ADM as opposed to the JDM. I mean, the RA gc8 had dccd ages ago didnt it? And the Aus spec gets it in 05? Twinscroll aswel, and i dont think any Aus spec wrx/stis have ever got that from stock have they?

Nope and I doubt we will get it

It is unfortunate, but I guess Subaru Australia couldn't 'go backwards' to a 2.0L again. Although I am guessing with a niche model like an STi there would be enough smart people to understand that displacement isn't everything...
