Licensing centres in Welshpool, Midland, Warwick, East Perth etc etc

I think welshpool is the main one for mods though isnt it?

Na thats just a licencing centre.. you need an inspection centre.

Welshpools the place to go.

through reading the site, i get the impression that you have to pre register mods or is it just a turn up thing and it also says that exhaust systems shouldnt me noticably louder than specified and although mine aint that loud it is still significantly louder than stock

Basically you just need to drive to the place, wait in line, hand over some money and they will come write you a permit for the legal things (POD filter, strut braces etc).

No point getting permits for stuff if the car has other "illegal mods" that police WILL sticker you for.. IE why spend $40 on a permit for POD filter when they will still sticker you for a BOV. When you go to take yellow off, they will already know the POD etc is legal..

i wnat to get a cat back, gauge pod and bov permited, thats all the stuff that can really be done for on the rex but what would the permits for those be worth, roughly?

Mat 06-10-2005 02:35 PM

If your BOV is loud, you have no chance of a permit and it would be pointless getting permits for any mods. Cat back provided it still has the cat and isnt overly loud will be legal, but permits for them can be iffy. Some ppl get permitted, others dont.

AfAIK i think its about $30 to get a permit with 5 (?) things on it.

yeh the bov is a stealth fx so i can turn it down, (would it be a good idea to turn down before the examination?) and the zorst has the stock cat and aint really loud (what revs do they test the db at?)
